Hi, I've been a vegan and animal rights activist since 2008. My biggest and most life-changing vegan accomplishment was interning at Farm Sanctuary in Watkins Glen, NY, where I worked on the Adopt-a-Farm-Animal Program. I am a recent USC grad working toward my teaching credential at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. I love exploring this amazing city with my obese-but-adorable angel of a dog, Shelby. I love cooking vegan food, doing yoga, dancing, playing piano and guitar, jam seshes, animals (duh), being snobby about movies, and laughing until I cry. I love Daiya-covered, Hawaiian pizza from Cruzer Pizza, LA's first all-vegan pizzeria. Peaceable Kingdom is my favorite animal rights documentary, and my greatest teaching tool and reminder for myself of why I fight this fight.
Hey, my name's Kenny and I've been a member of MTSU Raiders Against Animal Cruelty for the last few years and have also volunteered for a few national organizations. I also like hanging out with friends, learning Spanish and traveling. I'm no expert by any means, but if you have any questions on vegetarianism and fitness, just let me know -- I run, swim, bike, lift weights or play some kind of sport almost every day! I'd have to say my favorite vegan celebrity is Andre 3000 (of Outkast), my favorite things to eat are all the vegan donuts at Get Sconed, and my favorite veg related movie is Earthlings which opened my eyes to these issues.
Hi, I'm Tamar and I've been a vegetarian since I was 8 years old. I love traveling, hiking, and playing word games like scrabble and bananagrams. I would be happy to talk about the transition to vegetarianism and healthy veg eating habits as well as yummy and easy-to make recipes. I've been a member of Earlham College's Animal Advocates club and I hope to continue with my vegetarian activism throughout the rest of my college experience and beyond! My favorite vegetarian celebrity is Natalie Portman and my favorite Vegetarian restaurant is called "Caravan of Dreams." It's NYC so the next time you're there, you should check it! Once you go there, you'll be happy that you've gone veg!
Hi, my name is Donnie and I'm from Brooklyn, NY and currently studying in London for the semester. I have been vegan for four years and I cannot begin to tell you how this decision has changed my life. My journey took some time but I just knew I wanted to change the world and not have such a big environment impact when it came to consumption. Changing the way we eat is one of the greatest things we can do for the planet. I hope that you will ask me any questions and feel free to do that anytime. Veggie for life!
My name is Jenny and I've been vegan for a little over three years and have been involved with Earlham Animal Advocates United for about the same amount of time. I've also interned at Mercy For Animals and I know how to make a mean vegan cupcake. Please ask me any questions about anything because I would love to answer them!
My name is Shannon and I am actively involved in Raider's Against Animal Cruelty at Middle Tennessee State University. We leaflet, table, show documentaries, and host bake sales to raise funds for groups like Vegan Outreach and local animal rescues. My favorite vegan celebrity is Zooey Deschanel and my favorite vegan food is any type of muffin. My favorite veg-themed book is "Eating Animals," and my favorite cookbook is "Veganomicon." I'm also interested in biology, bikes, baking, sewing, and feminism.
